Stephen Fry sold his first painting at the age of 15 and went on to the prestigious California Institute of Arts on a full scholarship. Since then, he has been painting full time as a professional. Fry is continually inspired by the history of southern cultures and traditions as well as the vast scenic beauty of the low country. Many of his low country scenes are on century old wood taken from aging textile mills as they are being torn down. His painting of General Peter Horry is showcased in the Horry Museum of South Carolina. His art is also in Paul Newman's collection.
