Sean Williams is one of two local artists featured our Charleston Gallery. Williams is following in his grandfather's footsteps who has pieces in the Brooklyn Museum of Art.
Williams says of his art, "I begin paintings completely abstract and free of form, until
its elements are visually sound. I then spend a long time studying the
painting and imagining realistic images emerging. I pursue the
realistic images with minimal change to the painting, leaving some
ambiguous and others highly realistic. It is up to the viewer to
imagine and create the narrative. Images are often ambiguous to create a
sense of mystery, and allow the viewer to interpret the painting from a
unique and personal perspective."
