Sabre Esler is one of Georgia’s most exciting emerging artists. Greatly influenced by the German expressionists, Esler knows the importance of line and the energy it brings to a painting. She uses the rapid strokes of a palette knife to blend colors spontaneously which enhances the dynamic mood of her works while simple compositions and everyday subject matter render a quiet, calming feel. Esler’s work is showcased in galleries throughout the country and in numerous corporate and private collections including Hilton as well as Georgia Bank, Oglethorpe Bank, and Wild Dunes Resort. Her work was also featured in the 2010 film Life as We Know It starring Katherine Heigl and Josh Duhamel. According to Esler, “My paintings are soul responses to all that I see and all that touches me and speaks to me. . . . I do not paint the item/the scene. I paint the color of the perceptual moment. . . . Energy is all there is.”
