Hans Henrik Petersen is a Danish modern artist/graphic arts designer who was born in Copenhagen, Denmark after the close of World War II. In 1968 he had aspired to attend the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, but was deterred from doing so due to a hostile takeover of the prestigious art school by a Marxist student group. Hans emigrated from Denmark to New York City in 1976 where he was the Creative Director for a successful design firm for 15 years. Hans designed all promotional materials for the world removed International Home Furnishing Center. In 2005 he became a full time painter. Currently, he resides with his wife Barbara in South Carolina where he paints in his studio on Lake Wylie.
