Constantin Chatov was a native Georgian (of Russia). After fleeing from Russia in 1922 with his brother and fellow artist Roman, he made his home in Atlanta, GA and became a U.S. citizen. Chatov's paintings have been exhibited in one and two man shows at
the High Museum of Art. Chatov was commissioned
by MGM Studios to
paint portraits of
Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh, and Margaret Mitchell
for “Gone With the Wind”.
