1972 and 1974. Andy was a Visiting Artist for Prince Georges County
Maryland for two years and was a Visiting Artist in North Carolina for
four years through the 1980s. In 1995, Andy opened a working/teaching
studio in Charlotte, NC. He and his staff make art, teach
classes, and conduct workshops both domestically and abroad.
His work has been exhibited in Santa Fe,
Chicago, Atlanta, Millburn, N.J., Washington, D.C., Charlotte, and
internationally in both Holland and Brazil. In 1987, Braitman was chosen
by Nancy Reagan as one of America's Leading Artists and was honored to contribute a decorated Easter Egg to the White
House. This egg along with the others is now on display in the
Smithsonian Institute. He is quoted as saying, "I am fortunate to
have not had a real job since 1976."
